GTSE 2025 to Feature NACFE’s ‘Run on Less – Messy Middle’ on Opening Day

Fleet Research Leader Brings Real-World Decarbonization Data to Pacific Northwest’s Clean Transportation Event

TACOMA, WA  — The Green Transportation Summit & Expo (GTSE 2025), taking place August 26–28 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, is proud to partner with the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) to headline opening day programming with its groundbreaking “Run on Less – Messy Middle” initiative.

GTSE 2025 opens with a main stage session led by NACFE Executive Director Mike Roeth, joined by infrastructure expert Paul Stith, Head of Strategy and Development, Critical Loop and Founder, PROJECT Green OnRamp. The session explores how fleets can reduce emissions and stay cost-competitive while navigating a mix of powertrains - from electric to hydrogen to renewable diesel.

Following the popular Ride & Drive showcase on August 26, where attendees can test over 30 low-emission vehicles fueled by electric, natural gas, hydrogen, propane, and renewable diesel, NACFE will bring data-backed insights to the table - offering fleet managers real-world results from Class 8 trucks in operation today.

Run on Less is a biennial demonstration showcasing advancements in freight efficiency. The event takes place over the course of three weeks and has fleets across North America moving freight in their normal operations to show how it is possible to operate efficiently with today’s technologies.

“The ‘Messy Middle’ is the tough reality for fleets balancing clean fuel choices,” said Roeth. “Our fuel-agnostic testing gives fleets the real-world data they need to make smart, sustainable moves.”

NACFE’s participation continues throughout the expo with a live “Mike Roeth & Friends” podcast, and a technical session on drayage decarbonization featuring NACFE’s Rick Mihelic and industry leaders from Northwest Seaport Alliance, Forum Mobility, Mercer Logistics, and Talon Logistics.

GTSE 2025 offers unmatched access to the technologies, data, and leaders driving the shift to low-emission freight.

About GTSE: Now in its 15th year, the Green Transportation Summit & Expo is the Pacific Northwest's leading clean transportation event for fleets, policymakers, and technology providers.

GTSE is Growing

Details on Our Merge with RE+

TACOMA, WA - The Green Transportation Summit & Expo (GTSE) is officially merging with RE+ 2026, the largest clean energy event in North America. This landmark event will take place November 16–19, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This collaboration brings together the best of both worlds—GTSE’s leadership in clean transportation and RE+’s powerhouse reach in renewable energy—creating new opportunities for learning, networking, and cross-sector business growth.

GTSE, the largest clean mobility show in the Pacific Northwest, is known for convening fleet managers, policymakers, and industry experts to explore zero-emission vehicles, alternative fuels, and innovative mobility solutions.

RE+ has long been the go-to platform for the entire clean energy industry, and this partnership will deepen connections between clean energy and clean transportation like never before.

The merger also brings valuable operational support to GTSE, strengthening its capacity to deliver high-quality programming, streamline logistics, and elevate the attendee experience at future events.

GTSE is Growing—But Staying Rooted in the Pacific Northwest

While GTSE is expanding its footprint, its commitment to the Pacific Northwest remains unwavering. The core GTSE event and year-round programming—including regional events, Ride and Drives, Expos, and the GTSE podcast—will continue to serve the PNW community and stakeholders where it matters most.

We invite our longtime partners and new attendees alike to join us first in Las Vegas for the inaugural RE+ x GTSE 2026 experience, and then again at our event in the Pacific Northwest—location and dates to be announced.
