Join us for AccelerateH2, a pre-conference briefing on hydrogen mobility.  Organized in collaboration with California Fuel Cell Partnership, this day-long event will explore issues regarding fuel cell electric cars, buses, trucks, and other categories and the hydrogen fueling and production infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia) and beyond. The briefing will bring together subject matter experts, including representatives from industry, government, and academia, to discuss the ways in which vehicles, fueling infrastructure, and production can be synchronized and scaled to ensure a successful rollout on the North American west coast and beyond.  Join us for AccelerateH2, a day that focuses on hydrogen mobility and hub activity in the Pacific Northwest. Two workshops will explore complementary issues: 1. The need for the rapid scaling of vehicles and fueling infrastructure. 2. The need for the rapid scaling of hydrogen production to support several industries seeking to decarbonize. The workshops will bring together subject matter experts and Northwest stakeholders from industry, government, academia, and others, to discuss how transportation and industrial needs and hydrogen production can be synchronized and scaled. Workshop 1: The hydrogen highway comes to the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen mobility in the Pacific Northwest is in its infancy, with mature transportation-related industries such as Kenworth/Paccar and Daimler Trucks North America based in the area. With increasingly aligning policies and goals, the Northwest becomes an opportunity to build out the North American west coast fueling network to support cars and heavy-duty trucks, in addition to transit and other forms of mobility. This forum brings together stakeholders to talk about what can be learned from California and British Columbia, what is possible in Oregon and Washington, what infrastructure is needed and where, and what are the necessary policies to complete the hydrogen highway. Moderator: -Bill Elrick | Executive Director | California Fuel Cell Partnership Speakers: -Parker Meeks | Chief Strategy officer | Hyzon Motors -James Kast | Fuel Cell Business Analyst | Toyota (TBC) -Neil Bhagia | Head of Hydrogen Partnerships & Key Accounts | Shell -Stephanie Celt | Senior Energy Policy Specialist | Washington State Department of Commerce -Jeff Grant  | Vice President of Transportation Solutions | HTEC (TBC) -Tyson Eckerle | Deputy Director| Zero Emission Vehicle Market Development, California Gov's Office of Business & Economic Development Workshop 2: Hydrogen Hubs: What is needed to facilitate a scaling up of hydrogen activity? The federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provided $8 billion to fund at least four (likely six to 10) hydrogen hubs across the United States, in addition to significant funding for related hydrogen activities. Prior to the passage of IIJA, many states and communities were exploring or planning the development of hydrogen hubs or clusters. This forum brings together stakeholders to talk about hydrogen hub efforts in WA and OR, looking at what is possible in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Moderator: -Bill Elrick | Executive Director | California Fuel Cell Partnership Speakers: -Aaron Feaver, Ph.D. | Director | JC DREAM -Tim Nies | Regional Service Manager | Energy Northwest -Stephanie Celt | Senior Energy Policy Specialist | Washington State Department of Commerce
